Golden Bears head north to Bemidji State for week two

Concordia looks to even the all-time series entering the 16th meeting

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Concordia-St. Paul football (1-0) enters week two looking to improve to 2-0 for the second year in a row under sixth year head coach Shannon Currier with a late Saturday afternoon contest at Bemidji State (0-1) at Chet Anderson Stadium.

The Beavers entered the year ranked #25 in the AFCA Division II Top-25 Preseason Poll but fell 30-20 on the road to Winona State in its season opener last week. Concordia entered the year picked 13th in the 16 team NSIC and shutout Minot State 24-0, a team that was picked 14th in the preseason rankings. Bemidji State remains among the teams receiving votes for the AFCA Division II Top-25 and is led by NSIC North Division Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year Jordan Hein at quarterback and Gunner Olszewski at defensive back.

CSP and BSU have split the last four meetings in the all-time series, each winning once at home and once on the road. BSU holds the slight edge 8-7 all-time entering the 16th meeting. Currier is a perfect 4-0 against BSU, winning each season between 2000 and 2003 in his first stint running the program, including a win in his only trip to Bemidji in 2001.
