MARQUETTE, Mich. - Concordia-St. Paul (4-3) picked up a 14-8 road win at Northern Michigan (1-2) on Tuesday afternoon at the Superior Dome as the club won two of three on its first road trip in program history. Freshman goalie
Katie Lottsfeldt had a big day in the net, coming up with 11 stops to just eight goals allowed as the defense in front of her only allowed the Wildcats 19 total shot attempts on the day. She improves to 4-3 in the net on the season. Freshman

Meanwhile, the Golden Bears racked up 31 shots including 26 on goal and were efficient with 20 clears in 22 attempts.
Freshman
Kailey Heinl and sophomore
Sheala Osborne each scored three goals, with Osborne adding a pair of ground balls and pair of draw controls. It was Heinl who put Concordia ahead for good, giving CSP a 2-1 lead just over four minutes into play on a pass from junior
Kallie LaValle. Freshman
Maddie Hentges had tied the score just 15 seconds earlier as CSP was efficient early offensively. LaValle led the team with four points, scoring twice and adding two assists while Hentges had two goals and an assist for a three-point day.
Following NMU's game opening goal three and a half minutes into the game, Concordia snared the next two draw controls and scored within 24 seconds of each. Freshman

Cassidy Leininger grabbing the second.
The run didn't stop as CSP scored five in a row to build a 5-1 lead with 11:22 to play in the half. The first four goals came in a five minute flurry to build the momentum.
Concordia's defense held NMU scoreless for nearly 17 minutes of play following the Wildcats' first goal, although NMU scored back-to-back goals with 10:47 and 9:19 to play in the half to cut the margin to two, 5-3.
The Golden Bears closed out the half strong as Osborne and Leininger delivered goals for a 7-3 halftime lead, and Heinl and Hentges scored a pair of goals in the opening two-plus minutes of the second half for another four goal spurt. Heinl's first goal of the second half came just 11 seconds in as LaValle captured the draw and fed Heinl for the goal.
LaValle had a team-high five draw controls as CSP held a slight edge 13-11 on the day. But it was Concordia's ability to turn the draw into quick scoring that helped the Golden Bears run away with the contest.

Riley Burns free position shot with 16:10 to play in the game, an 11-4 lead.
Northern Michigan made a late run, scoring four of the next five goals to cut it to 12-8 with just over seven minutes to go before Osborne sealed it with two goals within a minute in the final three minutes of play.
