LAST MEETING: CSP 14, NMU 8
Concordia and Northern Michigan meet for the second time, a first for each of the inaugural programs. Concordia won the first matchup 14-8 on March 7 at the Superior Dome as Concordia improved to 4-3 on the year while closing out its first road trip by winning two of three while NMU fell to 1-2 on the year.
Jordan Hanner scored the first goal of the game just two and a half minutes into play on a free position shot to give NMU the first lead. It was the first in a six goal performance for Hanner, who now has 12 goals on the season - half coming against Concordia. The Golden Bears responded with a 5-0 scoring run including a pair by freshman
Kailey Heinl while junior
Kallie LaValle assisted on the go-ahead goal for a 2-1 lead and added a goal for a 3-1 advantage.
The Wildcats would cut the lead to two (5-3) on a pair of Hanner free position shots in a row, before a 4-0 run would give CSP a 9-3 lead early in the second half. From there, Concordia led by at least four the rest of the way. Heinl and sophomore
Sheala Osborne each had hat tricks for Concordia while LaValle led the team with four points (2g, 2a) with freshman
Maddie Hentges delivering three points (2g, 1a).
In the cage, freshman
Katie Lottsfeldt saved 11 of the 19 shots on goal while Brianna Bangle saved 12 of the 26 shots she faced.

Lottsfeldt's nine ground balls against Findlay is the 10th-best single game mark to date in the country, and she also has the 22nd ranked totals (eight vs Westminster & Marian).
Defending the net with an aggressive defense in front of her, Lottsfeldt ranks fifth in the country in total saves (102), 24th in the country in saves per game (8.50), 51st in save percentage (.411) and 56th in goals against average (12.51). Her 20 saves against McKendree are tied for second most in a game in the country this year, one behind the single game high set by Alexis Torosian of American International (vs Pace).

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
After winning its inaugural game 18-1 over Northland at home on Saturday, February 18, Northern Michigan dropped its next five contests including the 14-8 loss to Concordia in Marquette on Michigan's Upper Peninsula on March 7.
Like Concordia, Northern Michigan is also in its inaugural campaign and turned a corner in its most recent outing on Sunday, establishing a program record with 22 goals in a 22-10 win over Notre Dame (Ohio) for the program's first-ever road victory. In the win, Shelby Klotz netted nine goals to establish a program record, surpassing the previous high of six which was accomplished twice including by Jordan Hanner against CSP. Klotz leads NMU with 23 goals in seven contests, 10 more than the next Wildcat and she has posted five or more goals three times this year.
A key stat for the Wildcats was the advantage in the draw control with a 24-10 margin, helping the team to a 25-14 margin in shots on goal.
NMU turns its sights to the Concordia Dome this Friday night in its final non-conference contest before the seven game GLIAC league schedule begins this Sunday afternoon at McKendree. The Wildcats are in the midst of a nine-game road stretch, spanning their March 7 home game against CSP to their April 23 home game against Indianapolis.
