ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Golden Bear soccer (2-5-4, 2-2-4 NSIC) team faced a pair of quality opponents over the past weekend as they played host to Augustana on Friday night and then traveled to Wayne State on Sunday. On Friday CSP faced a good Viking squad and played a very competitive game but AU was able to escape with a 2-0 win, making it their fourth straight win over Concordia. On Sunday, CSP traveled to Wayne State where they played to a 0-0 draw despite outshooting the Wildcats 21-11 on the afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Nelson came away with her third shutout in the last four games against WSC.
From the Coach
"We have had so many opportunities to score these past couple games but we haven't been able to find the back of the net. We will keep chipping away though and doing the right things in practice to create opportunities. When we play Mankato, it is going to be a tough test. They got off to a slow start this year but have started clicking recently and scoring a lot of goals, so it will be good test of our back four against their offensive attack." Head coach
Steve Bellis said.
Scouting Minnesota State
