ABERDEEN S.D. - The Concordia University softball team (11-19, 6-4 NSIC) picked up a sweep on the road against Northern State (8-17, 1-7 NSIC) on Saturday. The Golden Bears took a pair of low scoring games with a 3-1 win in game one and a 3-2 win in game two.
Freshman pitcher
Linzy Heim (6-6) stepped up in a big way in the doubleheader as she threw all 14 innings for CU and allowed only three runs. Heim scattered 16 hits while walking only one as she struck out eight,
Alicia Meiser guided the offense with four hits in seven at-bats and had a double while scoring two runs and driving in two more.
GAME ONE: Concordia-St. Paul 3, Northern State 1
The two teams matched zeros through the first five innings of the game with each team failing to pick up the big hit. The Golden Bears had stranded a runner in scoring position in the third while the Wolves stranded runners in scoring position in the third and fourth, but none crossed the plate.

Liz Jarosz delivered a big two-run double to open the scoring.
Navarae Honoroff brought another run home on an RBI groundout to push the lead to 3-0 heading into the bottom of the inning.
The Wolves got one back right away with a leadoff homer in their half of the sixth, but Heim allowed no more.
Heim allowed nine hits and struck out five in her first win of the day.
GAME TWO: Concordia-St. Paul 3, Northern State 2
The scoring came earlier in game two as both teams got on the board in the second. Meiser singled to center to drive in
Jamie Fleischhacker to put CU up 1-0 before NSU took the lead in bottom half with two runs of their own.
The score remained 2-1 into the sixth, but the Golden Bears weren't done.
Kelly McKenzie reached base on an error with one out before Meiser drove her home with a double to tie the score.
Bekah Roth came through two batters later with a two-out single to put the Golden Bears on top 3-2.
Heim had it from there as she held off the Wolves to close out the win. She settled in after the second inning to deliver five straight scoreless innings to even her record at 6-6 in her first year at CU.
Meiser went 3-4 with adouble and 2 RBI in the game and Roth, Jarosz, Honoroff and Ewert each added a hit in game two.
Concordia announced that tomorrow's doubleheader has been moved from Moorhead to Aberdeen as the Golden Bears take on MSU Moorhead. It will be the second day in a row that CU will play on the football field on the campus of Northern State. FIrst pitch is set for 3 p.m.
