ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Concordia-St. Paul women's basketball team (2-2) wraps up their non-conference schedule this week as they play host to Jamestown (4-3) at 6 p.m. on Tuesday and William Penn (4-4) at 2 p.m. on Friday.

The Golden Bears won their first matchup against Jamestown last year with a 74-57 win at the Gangelhoff Center. Rachel Hansen paced CU with 20 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win.

Concordia did not have the same kind of success against William Penn in their only meeting as the Statesmen claimed a 75-73 win back on November 23rd, 2012. Anika Whiting just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

Concordia is coming off a weekend split against Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan on the road.

On Friday, the Huskies led from start to finish on their home floor led by Danielle Blake's 23 points in 65-54 loss for the Golden Bears. CU shot 37.7% (23-61) as a team while they connected on just 2-8 from beyond the arc in the loss. Michigan Tech struggled even more from three as they were 2-13 but hit 41.9% (26-62) of their shots from the floor.

On Sunday, Concordia survived a late scare to hand Northern Michigan their first loss of the season by a score of 70-69 in overtime on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Bears saw a 21 point lead late in the first half disappear as they needed an overtime period to close out the 70-69 win. It was a tale of two halves as CU hit 42.4% from the field in the first half while Northern Michigan shot an icy 14.8% before the break. Concordia cooled off to 29.6% in the second half while NMU improved to 37.0%.

Anika Whiting led the team with 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while averaging 40.0 minutes in the two games. Whiting was 9-11 from the free throw line on the weekend. She stepped up in the win on Sunday with 23 points, eight boards and two blocks in a whopping 44 minutes.
