ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Concordia Golden Bears soccer team (3-5, 2-3 NSIC) blanked the the MSU Moorhead Dragons (0-7, 0-5 NSIC) on Sunday afternoon.
Kayla Kuczaboski (Vadnais Heights, Minn. ) picked up her first shutout of the year and
Alahna Anderson (White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored the game's only goal. Concordia has now won five straight over the MSU Moorhead.
The Golden Bears didn't wait long to strike, scoring just 1:12 into the game.
Alahna Anderson put one in the back of the net for her second goal of the year. Kuczaboski was kept busy in the first half, turning away four attempts to keep the Dragons off the board.
MSU Moorhead put on some pressure early in the second half, putting three shots on net in the first eight minutes but Kuczaboski turned them all away. The two teams went back and forth for the rest of the half but had nothing to show for it as the Golden Bears took a 1-0 win.
Kayla Kuczaboski made nine saves to improve her record to 2-1 on the season. Anderson's goal was her second on the year and the second of her career.
Concordia returns home this weekend for homecoming weekend with a match against U-Mary on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and another on Sunday against Minot State at 1:00 p.m.
