ST. PAUL, Minn. -
This Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m., the Concordia-St. Paul football team (2-1) will look to get back on track with a non-divisional NSIC game at MSU Moorhead (0-3) at Alex Nemzek Stadium. The current forecast calls for temperatures in the 60's with a 70% chance of rain and winds approaching 20 miles per hour out of the west.

In week two, MSU Moorhead allowed 343 yards to Southwest Minnesota State running back Tyler Tonderum in a game played in heavy rain, with SMSU winning 27-20 over MSUM. In addition to allowing a 340-yard individual, MSUM surrendered 416 total rushing yards in the game and have allowed at least 227 rushing yards in every game this year (935 total).

That bodes well for the Golden Bears, who will look to spoil the Dragons' homecoming game. Concordia has heavily emphasized the run game this year behind junior Tre Spears, the fourth-leading rusher in the NSIC with 340 yards.

Concordia and MSU Moorhead last met in 2009 in Moorhead, Minn. with Concordia winning 45-35 to push the Golden Bears' edge in the all-time series to 8-1. Concordia's only loss to the Dragons was at Nemzek Stadium in 2006, a 20-18 edging by MSUM. Concordia is 4-1 at Nemzek Stadium. The two teams have not met since third year head coach Ryan Williams took over the program.
