ST. PAUL, Minn. - This Sunday, November 17 at 1 p.m., Concordia-St. Paul (4-6 NSIC, 1-4 South) will play the 2013 season finale against Winona State (6-4 NSIC, 4-2 South) at Metrodome in Minneapolis in the 31-year old facility's final college football game.
Winona State still has its sights set on a postseason contest, potentially able to play for a bid to the Mineral Water Bowl. For that to happen, the Warriors need St. Cloud State to win, likely combined with favorable results in the MIAA. Additionally, WSU would need Southwest Minnesota State to lose to Augustana.
With all other games played on Saturday, Winona State will know whether it has a chance at postseason play before kickoff on Sunday. The only unknown will be whether St. Cloud State is invited to the NCAA playoffs, which may not be announced by kickoff.
The Golden Bears are playing to move up in the final NSIC Standings, and to potentially play the role of spoiler. In a tightly contested and highly competitive conference with three nationally-ranked programs, the Golden Bears have a chance to finish seventh in the 16-team overall standings if they can win the final college football game played at Metrodome.
