FAYETTE, Iowa - Concordia-St. Paul (3-3 NSIC, 0-2 South) lost for the first time to Upper Iowa (4-2 NSIC, 1-1 South) in eight all-time meetings with a 28-24 loss at Harms-Eischeid Stadium on Saturday night for UIU's homecoming game.
Concordia-St. Paul quarterback

On the 4th-and-goal play, when the pocket broke down, Russo scrambled to his right when Clemon broke open to the back of the end zone with Russo's pass going out of the back of the end zone just out of Clemon's reach.

Russo connected for two of touchdowns from 20-plus yards out, a 25-yarder to
Gabe Boyce in the second quarter and a 23-yarder to
Cordell Smith in the third quarter.
The two touchdown passes sandwiched what was looking like the play of the game until UIU took the lead back late. After Concordia's defense forced the first 3-and-out of the game against Upper Iowa's offense in the second quarter, freshman
Dominic Nabak blocked the UIU punt with junior
Marc St. Louis recovering on the 28-yard line and sprinting down the sideline for the touchdown.
