ST. PAUL, Minn. -
This Saturday, Concordia-St. Paul (3-2) looks to spoil Upper Iowa's (3-2) homecoming game at Harms-Eischeid Stadium for a 6 p.m. kickoff in Fayette, Iowa. Each team is looking for its first NSIC South Division victory in the second week of division play.

Concordia is 7-0 all-time against Upper Iowa and 2-0 in road games at UIU. Concordia has scored 40 or more against the Peacocks in both trips to UIU's stadium, a 41-14 win in the first meeting in 2006 and a 57-56 double overtime win in 2009. Concordia's last trip to Iowa against the Peacocks was a neutral site matchup in 2011 at a high school near Fayette with Concordia winning 20-19. In the series, Concordia has three wins by 27 or more points and three wins by three points or less with one 9-point win.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from double-digit losses in the first week of division play last Saturday.

Concordia's offense is led by running back Tre Spears, who ranks 32nd in the nation with 532 rushing yards and three 100-plus yard performances. He faces a stingy UIU run defense that's ranked 30th in the country with 107.6 yards per game.

On the flip side, Concordia ranks 31st in the country in total defense (317.8) with a strength in pass defense, allowing just 174.6 yards per game which is 16th in the country. But Upper Iowa passes for 334.6 yards per game and racks up 534.6 yards of total offense per game, which both rank 11th nationally.

The Golden Bears are seeking a 4-2 start since the 2010 Mineral Water Bowl campaign and the first in head coach Ryan Williams' third season. Concordia has started 4-2 or better 14 times in the history of the football program dating back to 1969.

The game is expected to be played under mostly sunny skies with a high of 68 and winds between 15 and 25 miles per hour.
