Gilbert, 5-11, 167, attended the Jaguars rookie minicamp in May on a workout basis. He played two seasons at Concordia and finished with 89 receptions for 1,941 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also returned 29 kicks for a 23.3-yard average. As a senior, Gilbert compiled 1,068 yards and 14 touchdowns. He began his career at Webber International University in Babson Park, Fla. and was a three-sport athlete at Ridgeview High School in Jacksonville.
He was one of 20 rookies and 27 total players to compete in the team's rookie mini-camp in May. He turned heads throughout the spring by running a blazing 4.26 40-yard sprint, and despite his small frame he was able to rep 225 pounds 17 times on the bench press and has a 38-inch vertical leap.
He's the second Concordia football player to sign with an NFL franchise, joining offensive tackle
Tyler Hendrickson, who signed with the Chicago Bears in May.
