KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Golden Bears (12-5) split a pair of games on Wednesday. They fell behind early to Saginaw Valley State 6-0 before almost coming all the back but ultimately losing 6-5. In their second game of the day their bats came alive as they picked up an 11-1 win over Belmont Abbey.
Katie Anderson's 15 game hitting streak came to an end but she did reach base twice extending her streak to 17 games with reaching a base, hitting safely in 16 of them.

GAME 1 vs Saginaw Valley State
Anderson was hit by a pitch to open the game and
Calli Brennan (Mendota Heights, Minn.) drew a one out walk, but CU failed to push across a run.
Stephanie Kappes (Circle Pines, Minn.) started the game for Concordia but only went a 1/3 of an inning giving up four runs on three hits and three walks before giving way to
Ashley Kluever (Cottage Grove, Minn.). The streak of 22 straight innings without giving up a run ended as well.
SVSU got a run in the second and third innings to extend their lead to 6-0 after three. Concordia got one hit over those two innings.
The game stayed quiet until the top of the fifth when
Tessa Ewert (Hutchinson, Minn.) reached on an error to start the inning.
Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn.) singled and then Anderson drew a walk to load the bases.
Brynn Larsen (Oconto Falls, Wis.) had a RBI ground out to short and then Meiser scored on a passed ball.
Erin Tjornhom (Eagan, Minn.) had an RBI ground out scoring Anderson and CU got back in the game trailing 6-3.
Kluever kept Saginaw off the board in the fifth and sixth inning give CU a chance to win the game. In the top of the seventh Brennan singled to start the inning. After a fielder's choice and a pop out,
Missie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) took advantage of a dropped foul ball and deposited a ball over the fence drawing CU within one. That would be as close as the Golden Bears would get ending the game.
GAME 2 vs Belmont Abbey
Concordia got on the board quick in the bottom of the first inning after thwarting a Belmont Abbey mini threat in their at bat. The first two batters of the inning reached before Anderson was cut down at home on fielder's choice. Tjornhom picked up a RBI single scoring Larsen, and then M. Feuerbach doubled home Brennan to put CU up 2-0. After
Bekah Roth (Shoreview, Minn.) drew a walk freshman
Abby Foster (Waverly, Iowa) came up with the bases loaded. She made her first career homerun count as it was a grand slam putting CU up 6-0 after one.
The second inning was quiet for both teams despite both teams getting a hit.
Katie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) allowed another hit in the top of the third but could not score as CU went to the bottom of the third up 6-0. In the bottom of the third Concordia got some insurance as Concordia picked up five runs on six hits and two errors.
Megan Revoir (Hammond, Wis.) and Meiser picked up singles with one out, Revoir and Meiser scored on an error on the same single. After a ground out Larsen and Brennan singled to put the pressure back on as another error allowed Larsen to score.
The inning kept going as Tjornhom walked and then M. Feuerbach doubled home Brennan. Next up Roth singled home Tjornhom to make the score 11-0. The shutout ended in the top of the fifth as Belmont Abbey picked up a run before Concordia came home with an 11-1 victory.
