KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Stephanie Kappes (Circle Pines, Minn.) and Ashley Kluever (Cottage Grove, Minn.) each hurled two hit shutouts as Concordia (11-4) won their seventh straight game on Tuesday. The team has now pitched 22 straight innings without giving up a run. Katie Anderson (Mendota Heights) extended her hitting streak to 15 on the afternoon.

GAME 1 vs Lees-McRae

Anderson led off the game with a single extending her hitting streak to 14. She would steal second and score on Erin Tjornhom's (Eagan, Minn.) two out single putting CU up 1-0. Kappes put LMC down in order in their half of the first.

Cassie Bertelsen (Oakdale, Minn.) led off the second with a double but was stranded on third to end the inning. Lees-McRae got a lead off walk but could not score as well.

The Golden Bears added a run in the top of third. Calli Brennan (Mendota Heights, Minn.) led off with a single followed by a Tjornhom double putting runners on second and third with no body down. Missie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) hit a one out sacrifice fly to center scoring Brennan. LMC tried a two out rally but it came up short as runners were left on first and second.

Innings four and five did not yield much action. CU left two on in the fourth as their two out rally fell short. Lees-McRae went down in order in their half of the inning. Concordia missed another chance in the fifth leaving two more on base and LMC stranded one in their at bat.

In the sixth inning Anderson would single and then steal second much like the first inning. She scored on a squeeze bunt by Calli Brennan with one out.

After LMC left a runner on third in the sixth, Concordia got a pair of insurance runs with a two out rally. With a runner on first Abby Foster (Waverly, Iowa) pinch ran for Bertelsen and stole second. She scored on Tessa Ewert's double and after Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn.) walked Anderson hit a RBI single scoring Ewert. Kappes put LMC down in order in the seventh to complete the shutout.

GAME 2 vs Southern Indiana

Through the first inning and half neither team had much of scoring chance. In the bottom of the second Bekah Roth (Shoreview, Minn.) led off with a single and M. Feuerbach reached on a error putting runners on first and second with no one away. Unfortunately three straight outs would leave the runners stranded.

The Golden Bears got out of a jam in third thanks to a double play. Concordia got on the board in the bottom half of the inning with back to back doubles to lead of the inning by Anderson and Brynn Larsen (Oconto Falls, Wis.).

Ashley Kluever gave up a hit in the fourth and fifth innings but kept USI off the board as CU clung to the one run lead. The Golden Bears stranded a pair of runners in the fourth and failed to score in th fifth as well keeping the 1-0 lead headed to the sixth.

A two walk by Kluever gave USI a chance but she quickly got a ground out to end the inning. Concordia went down in order in the bottom of sixth. Kluever completed her two hit shutout by putting Southern Indiana down 1, 2, 3 in the seventh.
