GAME 1 Seton Hill vs Concordia

After a hitless first inning for both teams Concordia opened up the scoring in the second. Erin Tjornhom (Eagan, Minn.) started the inning off with a single and stole second and third with one out, as she stole third the throw got away and she was able to score. Seton Hill got the run back with a walk and two out double.

Concordia had just one hit from the third inning through the fifth. The Golden Bears starter Ashley Kluever (Cottage Grove, Minn.) pitched around two walks in the third and fourth innings as well as a walk and a single in the fifth to keep Seton Hill off the board.

Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn.) started the sixth off with a walk and stole second with Katie Anderson (Mendota Heights) at the plate. Anderson traded places with her with a double and then Brynn Larsen (Oconto Falls, Wis.) did the same thing. Larsen then stole third and scored on Tjornhom's one out single. Concordia scored three runs on four hits in the top of the sixth. SHU got a one out double followed by a single to put runners on second and third with one out. Kluever got a line out and ground out to end the inning.

The Golden Bears went down in order in the top of the seventh. Seton Hill doubled leading off the seventh and she scored on a one out ground out to short. Seton Hill had runners on first and second with the winning run at the plate. Kluever was able to dig down and strike her out to end the game. Kluever is now 5-1 on the season.

GAME 2 Holy Family vs Concordia

Katie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) got her first start of the season in the days second game. She got into some trouble in the top of the first giving up a lead off single and back to back one out walks to load the bases. She battled out of it getting a fielder's choice cutting the runner down at home and a two out line out to third.

Concordia threatened to score in the bottom of the first as well. Larsen and Brennan got back to back one out singles. Larsen was thrown out at third trying to steal but Brennan moved up to second. It was the first caught stealing on the year for CU, previously the Golden Bears were 28-28 as a team in stolen bases. Brennan got to third on wild pitch but the threat ended with a Tjornhom ground out.

Holy Family got two hits in the second inning but Missie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) helped her sister out throwing out a runner trying to steal second. M. Feuerbach has now thrown out four of 12 attempted runners on the year. K. Feuerbach settled down after that and allowed just one hit over the next four innings.

The Concordia offense was not any better going with out a hit in the second-fifth innings. Anderson had a two out triple in the sixth extending her hitting streak to 13 but was stranded their as Larsen lined out.

Neither team scored in the seventh and headed to extra's tied. Stephanie Kappes (Circle, Pines, Minn.) relieved K. Feuerbach in the seventh.

The Rebel Spring Games used international rules for extra innings, which means the last out from the previous inning is placed on third second as the inning starts. After a sac bunt Kappes got back to back pop ups to end the inning.

In CU's half of the eighth Megan Revoir (Hammond, Wis.) pinch ran for M. Feuerbach to start the inning. Tessa Ewert (Hutchinson, Minn.) attempted a sac bunt and reached on an error as the throw went into the right field allowing Revoir to score and Concordia to take the game.
