KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Golden Bears (7-4) used power and defense to go 2-0 in their second day at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.
Missie Feuerbach (Iowa City, Iowa) and
Erin Tjornhom (Eagan, Minn.) absolutely crushed homers in the first game as CU got a 7-4 win over Wheeling Jesuit. In the second game
Alicia Meiser (Circle Pines, Minn) and
Katie Anderson (Mendota Heights, Minn.) robbed homeruns including a catch by Meiser that saw her go over the fence for the catch in Concordia's 5-3 win over Southern Indiana.

GAME 1 vs Wheeling Jesuit
Concordia took advantage of a lead off hit batsman. Anderson was hit by a pitch and then stole second, she would score on
Brynn Larsen's (Oconto Falls, Wis.) single moments later. With two outs and Larsen on third they tried to pick her off but an overthrow allowed her to come across the plate.
In the top of the second a two rally started with an Anderson single and Larsen's double scoring Anderson. Concordia would take a 3-0 lead after two.
M. Feuerbach attempted to put the game out of reach in the top of third. After Tjornhom singled and
Bekah Roth (Shoreview, Minn.) reached on a error, Missie blasted a homerun that scored three putting CU up 6-0. For the third straight inning Wheeling Jesuit would put a runner on but would fail to score.
Tjornhom would hit CU's second homerun of the game as she would crush a two out homerun giving the Golden Bears a 7-0 lead going to the bottom of the fourth. WJU got a pair of runs back in bottom of the inning thanks to a two out single.
Wheeling Jesuit would get a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a pair of errors by Concordia. It would not be enough as Concordia came away with the 7-4 victory.
GAME 2 vs Southern Indiana
Southern Indiana got on the board first with a run in the top of the second inning. After a one out walk and fielder's choice Concordia would commit two errors on one play allowing a run to score. Concordia would fail to score in the first three innings as USI had 1-0 lead headed in to the top of the fourth.
The Eagles would add another unearned run in the fourth as a two out error allowed a runner to score. The Golden Bears would respond in the bottom half of the inning a the first three batters in the inning reached two via errors. Roth and M. Feuerbach would hit back to back sacrifice fly's to tie the game at two.
Cassie Bertelsen (Oakdale, Minn.) had a two single to give CU the lead scoring Tjornhom.
Stephanie Kappes (Circle Pines, Minn.) put USI down in order in the fifth and Concordia would get two more insurance runs in the bottom of the inning. Anderson would hit a one out single and then Larsen doubled to put runners on second and third with one out. Tjornhom would deliver once again as she had a two RBI single giving CU a 5-2 lead headed to the sixth.
Back to back singles by the Eagles gave them runners on on first and third with nobody out and the tying run at the plate. A sacrifice fly scored one but that would be all USI could do as they had to more fly outs to end the inning. Concordia would hold on for the 5-3 lead and pick up the win.
