COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Concordia-St. Paul men's basketball team faced a live test on Saturday afternoon at Sexton Arena, prevailing 85-61 over St. John's.

Isaiah Thomas (Fridley, Minn.) led all players with 19 points and 11 rebounds. He knocked down five three-pointers and shot 7-of-12 from the field and had three assists as well.
The team followed his lead, hitting 11-of-17 (64.7%) from three-point range and easily surpassed the 180-shooter mark as a team by hitting 53.7% (29-54) from the floor and 80.0% (16-of-20) at the foul line.
Cole Olstad (Elgin, Minn.) added 15 points and
Terez VanPelt (Osseo, Minn.) had 15 points and six assists.
Nick Mabbutt (Milton Keynes, UK) was the fourth player in double-figures with 13 points. Mabbutt and
Taylor Steinbauer (Owatonna, Minn.) combined to shoot 8-of-9 from the floor as Steinbauer was perfect in four attempts off the bench for eight points.
Concordia's defense held SJU to 35.7% shooting, 33.3% (6-of-18) from three and limited them to 12 free throw attempts, where they converted just five. The defense used eight blocked shots and eight steals in the process of shutting down the Johnnies.
SJU was led by Mitchell Kuck with 16 points and eight rebounds.
