ST. PAUL, Minn. - This Saturday, the Concordia football team (2-5 NSIC, 1-2 South) hosts Wayne State (4-3 NSIC, 1-2 South) with a 1 p.m. kickoff at Sea Foam Stadium.
The Golden Bears have won the last two meetings against Wayne State, both by 3-point margins and in both seasons the Wildcats were nationally-ranked at the time of the game. This year, WSC has lost three of four and two straight entering play and both teams have identical 1-2 records in the South Division.
In the all-time series, which Concordia leads 8-5 dating back to 1999, the Golden Bears are 5-2 in St. Paul and 1-1 against WSC at Sea Foam Stadium. It's been a close series, though, with Concordia holding a 5-3 record against Wayne State in games decided by five points or less. In fact, five of the last six meetings between the two teams have been decided by five or less.
