listen livein a match that did not feature many chances for either team one moment of brilliance was all cu needed to earn a huge three points in the nsic table. With just two minutes left in the first half
arielle stimson (lakeville, minn.) found
brittany kapala (fridley, minn.) outside the box, left of the umc keeper. Kapala used her right foot to get the ball to olsen, olsen did the rest by taping the ball to her self and then sending a volley into the back of the net. Concordia went in to the half leading 1-0 and having a 6-1 advantage in shots.
the second half did not see any more big chances for either team. Both olsen and kapala had great chances for concordia but golden eagles keeper amanda stapleton did a nice job keeping cu off the board. Olsen and kapala were two on one but as olsen tried to feed kapala, stapleton did a great job diving and stopping it with her left hand. Kapala almost scored on a shot near post but could not finish the shot off. Minnesota, crookston had their best chance in the final moments of play from a free kick just outside the box. After the ball bounced back and forth it ended up on the head of carly mirwaldt, kurtz was able to control the header and keep umc off the board.
olsen has now scored in five of the seven matches on the year and has scored five goals in the last four matches. The golden bears will be back in action tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. At sea foam stadium against msu-moorhead.
