kissimmee, fla. - the golden bears (12-4) swept their opponents on friday. Concordia opened the day with a 16-3 win over lake erie in six innings and then followed it up with a 6-3 win over northwood. on the day concordia was got wins in the circle from katie feuerbach and ashley kluever. Calli brennan had five hits including a triple, two homeruns and seven rbi's to lead the golden bear offense. Brynn larsen added four hits and calli brennan added three rbi's on the day. Katie anderson had five hits and three runs scored including two stolen bases in the two games.

concordia 16, lake erie 3:
concordia got two runs in the opening frame as a one out rally formed behind a walk and single to get things started. Larsen and brennan scored on a bekah roth single in the top of the first. Lake erie got a run back in the bottom of the second with a lead off homerun.

cu responded in the top of the third with a pair of runs. Anderson got things going with a single she then stole second and went to third by a sacrifice from larsen. Brennan hit her first homerun of the day to give the golden bears a 4-1 lead.

the golden bears busted the game open in the fourth scoring five runs on six hits. Erin tjornhom started the inning with a double and then scored off a missie feuerbach single. Stephanie schmikla singled to put runners on first and third. M. Feuerbach scored off a wild pitch and schmikla scored on a tessa ewert single. Larsen singled later on to score ewert and anderson scored on a wild pitch.

lake erie got runs in the fourth and fifth innings to cut the cu lead to 9-3 going into the sixth inning. Concordia got the scoring going in the sixth with a three homer by brennan, sami mattson made it back to back homers with a solo shot. Roth doubled and later scored on a tjornhom single. Tjornhom scored the sixth run of the inning on a passed ball. Megan revoir came in and was hit by a pitch, she later scored on an anderson single as cu won the game 16-3.

concordia 6, northwood 3:
kluever pitched another complete game as she threw seven innings while striking out eight in the win. She allowed just two earned runs and three extra base hits in the victory over northwood.

the golden bears again scored in the first inning, scoring three runs off four hits. Anderson singled and the stole second to lead off the inning. Brennan singled to score anderson and went to second on the throw home. Mattson doubled to score brennan and she herself scored on a tjornhom double with two outs.

northwood got back with in one in the top of the second scoring two runs on two hits. A martin double with no outs scored both nu runs in the inning. The game remained 3-2 in favor of cu through the fourth inning.

nu got a one out solo homerun to tie the game at 3-3. Cu quickly responded in the bottom of the fifth. Anderson doubled to start off the inning and scored off a triple by brennan. Kluever got out of a mini jam in the top of the sixth as nu put runners on first and second with just one out. She got the third out of the inning by striking out shields with the bases loaded.

cu got breathing room in the bottom of the sixth scoring two runs. Roth singled and tjornhom reached on a error to put runners on first and third with no outs. Ewert had the big hit of the inning connecting for a double with two outs to score roth and tjornhom. Nu got a one out single in the top of the seventh but it was not enough as cu won the game 6-3.
