Cu wins 10th game of the season, thursdays games rained out

kissimmee, fla. - the golden bears (10-4) rebounded from their first run rule loss of the season with a 9-0 win over fayetteville state in six innings. Concordia hit five homeruns in the victory including two by sami mattson. katie anderson hit her second homer of the season and bekah roth and tessa ewert hit their first homeruns of their cu career. box score

concordia opened up the game by scoring two runs in the first frame. Anderson led off the game with homerun and mattson homered with two outs for the second run of the game. Stephanie schmikla put down fsu 1,2,3 in the bottom of the first inning. The top of the second inning for cu started with missie feuerbach being hit by a pitch and a walk by megan revoir. Tessa ewert cleared the bases with a three run homerun scoring feuerbach and revoir. Schmikla again put down fsu in order in the bottom of the second.

roth hit her first career homer in the top of the third with one out. M. Feuerbach singled and revoir picked up her second walk of the game to put runners on first and second base with one out. Anderson singled home m. Feuerbach to put concordia up 7-0. Fsu got a one out single in the bottom of third to break up the no hit bid.

both teams went down in order in the fourth inning as the game remained 7-0. Cu got a one single in the fifth but didn't manage any more than that. Katie feuerbach came in to relieve schmikla fsu got runners on first and second with one out but feuerbach got locklear to hit into a double play to end the threat. In the top of the sixth mattson hit her second homer run of the game, a two out bomb to put cu up 9-0. Fsu got another runner on in the bottom of the inning but couldn't manage any more as the game ended 9-0.
