ashley murtha (apple valley, minn.) all had career highs in kills friday night helping concordia (17-0, 8-0 nsic) sweep upper iowa (10-8, 4-5 nsic) 25-20, 25-11, 25-12. Koenecke led the way with 17 kills and graham and murtha each had eight.
megan carlson (andover, minn. Added 11 kills and
amanda konetchy (victoria, minn.) had 43 assists.

listen liveconcordia hit .430 on the night despite having a .282 hitting percentage in the opening set with eight errors. In the second and third set they hit .500 and .591 with just four combined errors.
taylor fieldsted (lakeville, minn.) led the defense with 12 digs.
katie habeck (farmington, minn.) had three blocks as did graham. Both the golden bears and the peacocks had seven blocks on the night.
in the first set the peacocks came to play as both teams battled back and forth throughout the set. Uiu had a 15-14 lead in the middle of the set before concordia scored six straight points behind three carlson kills. Cu held a 21-15 lead late in the set before the peacocks rallied to get the score within three at 23-20, aided by two straight attack errors by the golden bears. Concordia called a timeout and controlled themselves to take the set 25-20. Koenecke had seven kills in the first set.
the golden bears fell behind 4-1 in the second set before taking a lead at 6-5 and never looking back. Midway through the set cu held a 13-9 advantage and then rattled off five straight points taking a 18-9 lead late. Concordia scored the last seven points of the set winning 25-11. Murtha and graham each had four kills in the set.
cu was the team to jump out in the third set getting a 5-2 lead very early on. The peacocks got within one at 7-6 but that was as close as they got all set. Concordia scored six straight points midway through the set to take a 17-9 lead. Uiu never recovered and the golden bears took the set 25-12.
concordia will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for parent day and youth night at 3:00 p.m. The golden bears will take on winona state, one of two teams this year to take a set from the golden bears. Concordia has now won 37 straight matches, 57 straight home matches and 78 straight nsic regular season matches.
