The golden bears move to 9-3 on the season and pushed their nsic regular season win streak to 56 and home win streak to 45. Concordia has now won 21 straight against umc. cassie haag led the way with 19 kills and .643 on the night. kara pioske was second on the team with ten kills. kayla koenecke and megan carlson added nine a piece along with 14 and 16 digs repectively. Koenekce hit at a .412 clip, third on the team. emily palkert had eight kills and hit .471.
concordia came out on fire in the first set hitting on all cylinders. Concordia jumped out early 9-3 forcing a umc timeout. Cu was able to extend the lead following the timeout to 13-4. The golden bears from there on out winning the set 25-10. Concordia hit. 576 in the first set to roll to a 1-0 lead.
the golden eagles kept it a little closer in the second set but the cu offense again too powerful. Cu got out again to an early 11-4 lead. Umc closed the gap to 12-8 but that ws the closest they would get as cu countered with three straight points. Concordia got out to their biggest lead at 23-14. Cu closed out the set 25-17.
the golden bears and golden eagles battled hard in the third and deciding set, cu got out to an early lead like previous sets but their lead was a slim 12-9 lead midway through the set. Concordia scored five straight points from their to take a 17-9 lead and put the set and match out of reach for umc. Concordia finished off the golden eagles 25-16.
concordia will be back in action tomorrow afternoon in the gangelhoff as they look for their tenth win of the season against msu-moorhead at 4 p.m.
