saint paul, minn. - concordia head soccer coach joe alianiello became the winningest head coach in cu history with a 4-1 victory over southwest minnesota state.
arielle stimson had a hat trick for the golden bears (2-2-1) and has now scored in four straight games. It was the first hat trick of her career, she now has 16 goals in her first two seasons.
brittany kapala scored her second career goal, her second straight game with a goal. Alianiello now has 32 wins in his career.
kapala opened up the scoring in the fourteenth minute, she was assisted by
kaylyn rae smith. Stimson didn't wait much longer before putting up cu 2-0 with a goal just four minutes later. The mustangs got within one in the 22 minute when courtney mccarthy scored. Stimson added her second goal of the game in the 33 minute assisted by
lauren hoof, her first assist of the season and career. The game remained at 3-1 until late in the second half when stimson finished off her hat trick in the 85 minute.
kegan kurtz (1-0-1) got the win for cu her first of her career, stopping eight mustang shots.
sara sather and
chloe weinberg each had two shots on the day for the golden bears.
concordia will back in action tomorrow afternoon at minnesota state in mankato at 1 p.m.
