luther scored at 22:48 in the first half on an unassisted goal by paige ofstedahl to take a 1-0 lead. The norse scored again at the 51 minute mark to go up 2-0.
the golden bears scored their only goal of the game on a free kick by junior sara sather (anoka, minn.), scoring her first goal of the season. That goal was also the first goal scored by the cu soccer team in their new home, sea foam stadium.
the norse dominated with six shots on goal to concordia's three although concordia outshot luther overall 14-8. Concordia goalie kaitlin budd (fr., antioch, ill.) had four saves in the game.
head coach joe alianiello said he felt his team played well overall, but missed some big opportunities. Alianiello went on to say, "it is time for us to refocus and get ready for the start of the conference season."
