st. Paul, minn. - overtime woes plagued the golden bears in the final regular season game against st. Cloud state university. The huskies scored a goal in the final minute of the second overtime to secure victory. The huskies are now 10-4-4 overall, 9-2-2 in the nsic. both teams were held scoreless through regulation in a battle of the defenses. In the first half st. Cloud only took three shots while cu was held to only two.

the second half brought more of the same.

the golden bears only real scoring opportunity during regulation came off of a scuffle in front of the st. Cloud net early in the second with shots taken by katie johnson and kate campione.

regulation ended deadlocked at 0-0.

cu made a serious scoring threat in the first overtime period off of a corner kick. Johnson took a shot at the net that sailed high.

it looked like we were headed to a tie with a minute left when jenn clifford booted in the winning goal for the huskies to end the game.

for the game cu took 14 shots with five on goal. St. Cloud managed 11 shots with five on goal. arielle stimson and kari janes led the golden bears with three shots apiece.

the golden bears are sitting in eighth place in the conference standings and are now finished with regular season play. They will have to wait until sunday to see how things play out with the rest of the league to see if they secure a spot in post-season play.
