the only goal of the game was scored by winona state's melissa sellier the 12:03 mark in the first half. Sellier put the goal past cu keeper kaitlin budd after a scuffle in front of the net.

for the fourth game in a row the cu defense held their opponent to one goal giving the golden bears a 1.41 goals scored average by their opponents for the year. The warriors had been averaging 2.18 goals scored per game.

budd did her best to keep the golden bears in the game making seven saves, giving her 92 saves for the season moving her into seventh on the cu single seasons records. Budd finished her rookie season with a record of 8-10-3, 5-7-2. Her eight wins ties her for first in most wins in a single season by a cu goalie.

the golden bears looked to tie things up in the second half but were held to only four shots for the half by the tough warrior defense. Cu got off 14 shots for the game with eight on goal. The warriors took 23 shots with eight on goal.

concordia was led on the field by junior sara sather with five shots and three on goal. kari janes, kate campione and arielle stimson each contributed two shots to the golden bear effort.

winona will play minnesota state in the semifinal round of the tournament on november 6.
