Soccer falls to North Dakota

st. Paul, minn. - the concordia soccer team faced off with the university of north dakota (2-3) this afternoon at concordia field and was shut out by the new ncaa di affiliate, 6-0. The golden bears (2-3) continue home play this wednesday, hosting st. Cloud state in a non-conference meeting.

the golden bears held their own through the first half hour of play, matching und in possession time and shots. Mandi boehmer put a penalty kick past concordia's hannah turgerson for the first goal of the game, one of two in the first 45 minutes. The golden bears took three shots in the half, including two on-goal with one from a kyla rentch free kick that was just barely brushed out of the way by und keeper sera lauren.

north dakota's offense had the second half in tow after playing head to head in the first half. They peppered four additional scores to take the final 6-0 win, including another score from boehmer that opened the period. Concordia's offense took more shots and had four shots on goal in the second half, but was unable to close out plays for the score.

emily weimelt took five shots with two on goal in the game. chloe weinberg had two shots. Turgerson faced 16 total shots on goal and had ten saves. She took the loss to fall to 1-1 on the season.
