after being shut out in the first period, the golden bears took little time firing shots at the net in the second half. emily weimelt and sam voeller each got good looks at the goal but were denied scores by the smallest of margins. It was a scuttle in front of the net at the 70 minute mark of the game that cu’s luck turned. savannah nolen managed to get the ball to janes, who tucked it deep in the right corner for the game-winning score.
janes kept wayne’s keepers busy in the game with four of the team’s 11 shots on goal. Weimelt had two shots on goal. The overall shot leader on the day was voeller, who took seven shots. Keeper keyton wheelock made three saves to set her season record at 3-3.
