They gave the offense chances to score, but a hearty viking defense also worked to block shots and limit scoring opportunities. In an evenly matched game that was mere seconds from ending in a tie, a final good play from the vikings separated the competition.

the golden bears took 17 shots in the game and put ten shots on-goal. Augustana took to shooting in the overtime periods and narrowed the offensive margin with 14 shots in the game. They took only two shots on goal in the game, and just one that mattered.
