The concordia softball team (9-3) earned a pair of wins thursday at the gene cusic classic in fort myers. The golden bears got a 6-5 win over mercyhurst in the first game of the day and a 13-0 win over johnson wales in five innings in game two.

against mercyhurst, junior jenny kaminski (columbia heights, mn) earned her sixth win (6-0), while stephanie schmikla (fr., madison, wi) got the save. Sophomore abby brundidge (nekoosa, wi) went 2-4 with a double in the game.

game 2 - cu 13, johnson wales 0 (5 innings)
against johnson wales, senior mallory olson (stillwater, mn) was impressive at the plate, going 4-4 with 4 doubles. Freshman cassye mcmahon earned her first win of her career striking out eight.
