fayette, iowa - thanks to a 25-point, six assist performance by junior jamie jones, the concordia university golden bear women’s basketball team opened the nsic conference season with a come-from-behind victory at upper iowa university (3-3, 0-1 nsic). The golden bears improve to 6-2 on the year and play at winona state at 6:00 pm tomorrow night.
the golden bears trailed by 12, 53-41, with 11:05 to play in the game. However, jones scored 16 of her game-high 25 points in the game's final 10:12 to lift concordia to the victory.
jones was aided by her perfect night at the foul line, making all ten of her foul attempts. She also shot 6-of-14 from the field, which included three made three-pointers.

Candace olstad and kelly supernaw each had a team high six boards.
andrea downs led four peacocks in double-figures with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor. Lene lox added 12 points off the bench. Britney iredale missed out on a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds while melissa fritz finished with 10 points.
