Concordia sweeps Mesa State, Adams State in Denver

The bears stayed perfect on the season (8-0) with 3-0 sweeps of adams state and mesa state in the second day of action at the days inn-denver west volleyball classic in denver on saturday.

the bears earned a 30-27, 30-26, 30-18 win over adams state (4-3) in their first action of the day. sadie kessler led a trio of bears with double-digit kills with 15, while emily palkert added 13 and whitney meierotto 11.

concordia hit .227 for the match with 54 kills, 27 errors in 119 attempts. maggie mcnamara finished with 45 assists. mary slinger and krista erickson each finished with 15 digs as the bears tallied 56 in the match. Csp held adams state to a .069 hitting percentage (28k, 20e, 116ta).

against mesa state (3-4) the bears defense held the mavericks to a 0.034 hitting percentage with 28 kills against 34 errors in the 30-23, 30-17, 30-18 win. Concordia tallied 11 team blocks with kasey woodcock finishing with eight block assists.

meierotto led the bears offense with 13 kills and 13 digs. Kessler finished with 11 kills, two errors and a .429 hitting percentage. Mcnamara dished out 39 assists.
