mandy turba allowed just four hits and no runs, with 12 strikeouts in 16 innings over three games to lead the bears to three wins at the first day of the nsic crossover at mocassin creek park in aberdeen, sd. Concordia defeated host northern state 6-4 in nine innings to open the day, followed by a 4-0 win over bemidji state. They ended the day with a 7-5 win over the university of mary.

the bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning against northern state, but the wolves countered that in the bottom of the first with three runs of their own. Northern took a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning.
down to their last out in the seventh inning, the bears tied the game at 4-4 when
nicole tischler scored on a passed ball with the bases loaded and two outs. Neither team scored in the eighth inning.
josey olson led off the ninth inning with a single to left field and scored on the next play, along with teammate tischler on errors by the wolves defense giving the bears the 6-4 win.
concordia scored six runs on eight hits and two wolves errors.

northern state scored four runs (three earned) on nine hits over 4.0 innings against starter jenny kaminski. Turba pitched five scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.

mandy turba pitched a near perfect game allowing just one hit, with five strikeouts and three walks.
amanda yurek began a two out rally in the third inning with a walk. Brundidge followed that with a double, with yurek heading to third.
mallory olson then hit a two-run single to score brundidge and yurek to give the bears a 2-0 lead.
the bears added a run in the fourth inning and one in the seventh to earn the win.

the concordia bats found their rhythm against the marauders as concordia tallied seven runs on 14 hits.
melissa bergdall went 3-4 with a rbi and run scored, while m. Olson was 3-4 with two rbi. Brundidge and natalie mast also each had two hits.
after mary cut the concordia lead to 6-5 in the fouth inning, turba came in a pitched four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit to get her third win of the day.
mary scored five runs on eight hits with three concordia errors.

natalie mast was 2-2 on the day in stolen bases and is now 25-28 on the year. Her 25 stolen bases is a new single season school record (old record - alicia nortrom, 24 in 2004)
the bears went 10-11 in stolen bases on the day and now have 67 stolen bases, breaking the 2004 team record of 65. They are 67-for-77 on the season.
