The bears (18-21) dropped a pair of non-conference games to minnesota state (28-12) in mankato on wednesday afternoon. They lost the first one 9-1 in five innings, before falling 3-2 in game two.

in the nightcap, after the golden bears used a solo homerun by scherr in the top of the fourth inning to take a 1-0 advantage, the mavericks scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-1 lead.

concordia added a run in the sixth, after a double by natalie mast, she would score on a error by the centerfielder on an amanda yurek hit. However it was not enough.

jenny kaminski took the loss, giving up three runs, two earned, on seven hits and a walk. She had two strikeouts and falls to 10-8 on the season.

samantha rohr picked up the wins in both games for the mavericks and improved to 17-6 on the season for the second-ranked team in the north central region.
