Concordia university's (17-15) losing streak hit six games on saturday afternoon following three tough losses at the concordia tournament at dunning softball complex in st. Paul, minn. In the first game, the bears fell 4-0 to nebraska-omaha before a 6-5 loss to north dakota and a 2-0 defeat to missouri western state.
in the first game against uno, the bears committed three errors leading to two unearned runs for the mavericks and stranded six runners on base on offense in the shutout loss.
the mavericks scored two runs in the first and two more in the fifth en route to the victory.
in the second game, the bears scored first when
josey olson delivered an rbi double, scoring
mallory olson in the second inning. North dakota answered in the bottom of the inning with a two-run home run.
the bears tied the game in the top of the third when
anna bjorlin socked a solo homer to right field. The sioux answered in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the slim lead.
after a scoreless fourth inning, concordia re-tied the score in the fifth when m.olson punched an rbi double to left.
that's when und delivered the knock out blow, a three run home run to right field, giving the sioux a 6-3 lead.
bjorlin knocked in an rbi single in the sixth and m.olson had an rbi single in the seventh, but concordia stranded nine runners on in the loss, including runners on second and third in the seventh.
in the third game against missouri western, the griffons scored two in the first before the two teams played to a scoreless dual the rest of the way.
the bears managed just three hits but drew five walks and stranded eight runners on base including runners on first and second in the first inning and bases loaded in the fifth.
concordia committed three more errors in the final game behind
mandy turba, who took another hard loss.
in her two losses, turba pitched 13.0 innings allowing six runs (four earned) on 14 hits and four walks while striking out six. She held opponents to a .264 avg. And registered a 2.15 era. She falls to 7-11 on the season.

jenny kaminski's loss to und, she worked six innings allowing six runs on nine hits. She falls to 10-5 on the year.
offensively, m.olson hit .571 in the three games, going 4-7 at the plate with a double, an rbi and a run. She drew two walks and had a .700 on base pct. Bjorlin was 3-10 with a double, a home run and two rbi. She registered a .700 slugging pct.
concordia continues action in the tournament tomorrow when they take on minnesota duluth and st. Cloud state at 1:00 and 3:00, respectively, at dunning field.
