freshman emily palkert was on fire, drilling 14 kills in 19 error-free attacks to lead #4 concordia-st. Paul (26-2) to a quick three game sweep over north dakota (5-18), 30-23, 30-13, 30-25 in a non-conference match at the gangelhoff center on friday evening.
palkert ripped a .737 attack pct. For the golden bears who hit .392 as a team and out-killed the sioux 52-38 for the match. Junior whitney meierotto was also red hot, pounding 10 kills at a .529 clip in 17 attacks with just one error. She another double-double with 10 digs, as well.
maria steinhagen was the other golden bear to reach double-digit digs, recording 10 kills and hitting .333. She also had a team-high four blocks (one solo) as concordia outblocked und 8-5.
the offense was set by maggie mcnamara and her 44 assists. mary slinger led the defense with 15 digs.
britta hanson paced the sioux with 11 kills while stephanie mason had nine digs and megan langseth had 29 assists.
with the win, concordia extends their season-long winning streak to 11 matches and will put the streak on the line tomorrow night when they host msu moorhead at 5 p.m.
