hillary johnson had a goal and assist as the bears defeated minnesota-crookston 2-0 in their nsic opener at concordia field. With the win, the bears improve to 3-7-1 (1-0 nsic).
neither team was able to score in the first half, but the bears got on the board just three minutes into the second half as johnson was able to get the ball past the eagles goalkeeper at 48:40 of the game. The assist went to
bridget mcandrew, her first assist for concordia.
the bears got an insurance goal at 86:13 when johnson hit
sam voeller with a pass past the eagle defense and voeller was able to score her first goal of the season.
for the game, concordia was outshot 13-12. Umc had six shots on goal, all stopped by
hannah turgerson, who picked up her second win on the season. The bears managed only three shots on goal, but capitalized on two of them.
