rachel vitense assisted all three of concordia's goal en route to a 3-0 victory over augustana college on saturday afternoon at concordia field. The win was the first career collegiate victory for head coach

in a tight battle in the first half, concordia finally broke the game open when vitense (left) hit freshman
kyla rentch who drilled a goal past augie's lisa jarovski in the 37th minute of play.
the game remained 1-0 at the half, with concordia holding a decisive 5-2 advantage in shots goal.
the game stayed at 1-0 until the 82nd minute when another freshman, this time
katie johnson (right), delivered a goal off of a vitense pass.

hillary johnson and vitense toyed with the viking defense in the 87th minute as the duo blew past a pair of viking defenders before vitense slid a pass to johnson allowing johnson to sneak past jarovski to drill a shot into the back of a wide open net.
sophomore goalkeeper
hannah turgerson was solid in the shutout victory, saving six augie shots in the contest, including a few dramatic attempts that sent augustana home empty handed.
concordia, off to a 1-0 start to the season, will take on south dakota tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 at concordia field.
