Senior second baseman
Galen Wetzell knocked in a two-run double to right field in the top of the eighth inning to give Concordia University (29-10-1) a 5-4 lead as they went on to defeat Southwest Minnesota state 7-4 to advance to the NSIC Tournament Championship game to be played this afternoon against Wayne State in Wayne, Nebraska. The game will have a start time of approximately 3:00 p.m.
Wetzell added another two-run double to right in the ninth inning as he finished 3-5 with two doubles and four rbi in the ballgame. Senior left fielder
Chris Duda also added three hits in the victory.

A win for the Golden Bears sets up the second championship game between the teams as the Wildcats have yet to be defeated in the double-elimination tournament. On the line is the NSIC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The Golden Bears currently hold the ninth ranking in the latest regional poll while the Wildcats are fifth. The top six teams in the final regional rankings will compete in the regional tournament.
