The concordia softball team earned its sixth straight shutout in nsic play as the bears earned a 4-0 win over msu moorhead and a 4-0 win over northern state in the second day of the nsic crossover in marshall, mn. The bears have now won nine straight and are 23-8 (6-0 nsic) on the season.
against msu moorhead the bears scored three runs in the first inning with
kelly schwietz (left) getting a two-run single down the left side. They would score one more in the second.
kristen schmidt would allow only one hit in the game, while striking out nine. Schwietz would get two of concordia's five hits in the game.
laura tischler (right) would hit her first career home run in the second game against northern state as the bears would score four runs on five hits. Tischler's home run was a two-run shot in the fourth inning that would be all the offense that
mandy turba would need as she pitched a three-hit shutout with ten strikeouts.
in the last eight games, the concordia tandem of schmidt and turba are 8-0 with a 0.68 era and 67 strikeouts, allowing only 17 hits in that span.
the bears will be in action again on tuesday, apr. 11th as they travel to winona state in nsic action.
