The bears cruised to a pair of wins at the nsic crossover saturday afternoon defeating bemidji state 8-0 in six innings and um crookston 11-0 in five innings.
kristen schmidt (left) (10-5) was in complete control in the mound against bemidji state, striking out a season-high 15 batters and allowing only three hits.
tracie enzler (right) went 3-3 with two home runs and had two rbi, while
amanda yurek went 2-3 with a home run, a double and two rbi.
against um crookston, the bears scored 10 runs in the first inning on nine hits, including back-to-back-to-back doubles by enzler,
vanessa dufresne and yurek (left). All three would have two hits in the game. Enzler went 2-2 with three rbi, while yurek went 2-2 with a double, home run and three rbi. Mandy turba (10-3) allowed only two hits, while striking out seven in the win.
on the day, yurek finished the day going 4-5 with a double, three home runs and six rbi, while enzler went 5-5 with a double, two home runs and five rbi.
the bears improve to 20-8 on the year and will play northern state and msu moorhead tomorrow in the second day of the nsic crossover.
