Quarberg's two home runs tie him for the team lead with left fielder
Chris Duda, who went 2-4 with two runs, three rbi and his eighth homer of the year. Quarberg's eight rbi give him 41 on the year. He also scored four runs in the contest.
Every starter for the Bears scored at least one run and six players scored at least twice. Five players also had multi-rbi performances.
Sophomore starter
Eric Utoft went the distance as the Bears didn't have to dip into their bullpen in either game on day one of the series. Utoft struck out seven in seven strong innings and the only runs he allowed came on home runs as he surrendered just six hits and one walk. He improves to 4-3 on the season.
The Bears and Beavers will tangle again tomorrow at noon to cap off the season series.
