The Concordia baseball team defeated Alma 6-5 in game one and 8-6 in game two to improve to 4-0 on their spring trip to Fort Myers, Florida.
Brian Bach and
Kirk Ingram got the wins on the mound.
In the first game, the Bears scored six runs on seven hits and were able to manufacture a run in the eighth inning without a hit to earn the win.
Galen Wetzell (left) led off the eighth inning by being hit by a pitch and stole both second and third.
Erik Quarberg was able to get a sacrifice to right field to score Wetzell.
For the game,
Jake Waldman (right) was 2-3 with a double and two rbi, while
Chris Duda also had two hits.
Jacob Campion pitched five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits. Bach came in and pitched three innings, allowing one unearned run and one hit.
Game two saw the Bears fall behind 5-0 before rallying by scoring two in the third, four in the fourth and two more in the fifth inning.
Erik Quarberg (left) went 3-3 with a double, a triple and two rbi.
Bobby Meier also had three rbi in the game.
Kirk Ingram (right) got the win on the mound after coming in in the third inning and pitching five innings, giving up one run on two hits with six strikeouts.
The Bears will be in action again on March 28 when they will face Wheeling Jesuit.
