katie laviolette scored a career-high 19 points in 35 minutes of action but it wasn't enough as concordia university (14-8, 5-4 nsic) fell on the road to northern state (18-4, 7-2 nsic) 67-59 at the barnett center in aberdeen, s.d.
the bears jumped out to an early 25-20 lead in the first half behind hot field goal shooting, as the team connected on seven of their first ten field goal attempts.
but the wolves clamped down defensively and closed out the second half on a 12-2 run as they held the golden bears to 2-17 shooting for the remainder of the half. The wolves went into the locker room ahead 32-27 and controlling the momentum.
northern state continued their run in the second half extending the run to 23-5 to open up a 43-30 lead with 15:11 to play in the game. The run spanned 13:46 of play as concordia managed to make just 3-24 from the field.

candace olstad drained a pair of threes during an 8-0 run to cut the score to 45-40 with 11:49 remaining.
the wolves pushed the lead back to 11 points, 51-40, after scoring six unanswered but concordia clawed back as they held the wolves without a field goal for just under nine minutes.
the stingy cu defense allowed the bears to cut the gap to three points, 57-54 with the ball. But nsu forced a concordia turnover and hit their first field goal since the 10:38 mark when ali chmielewski hit a layup with 1:42, stealing the momentum back for the wolves.

no other bear reached double-figures in the contest as the rest of the team shot 5-29 from the field and accounted for just 22 points.

amanda behnke was held scoreless but hauled in five rebounds.
neither team was able to hit a rhythm from the field, as concordia shot just 33.9% (20-59) from the field compared to nrothern state's 36.2% (17-47). Both teams were aggressive from behind the arc, each shooting over 20 three-point attempts. Concordia hit 6-23 (26.1%) while northern state hit 7-21 (33.3%).
the loss for concordia snaps a three-game winning streak. They look to bounce back tomorrow night when they travel to msu moorhead, who fell to winona state tonight in nsic action.
