The loss in the first game was the first time cu lost a game in the nsic as they started the season with 13 consecutive nsic sweeps. It snaps their consecutive games streak at 24 after sweeping eight straight matches.
the 55 consecutive matches is the sixth longest streak in ncaa dii history while the 24 consecutive games won was a top 25 all-time streak as well.
the bears were led by senior jessica lucia (left), who was two assists shy of notching a triple double with 16 kills, 10 digs and eight assists. She led four players in double-digit kills as senior kelsey kyro added 13 with six blocks and maria steinhagen and ashley olson (right) each had 12 kills. Olson also had a double-double with 10 digs while also netting five blocks. Steinhagen's seven blocks were a match-high as cu outblocked wsu 15-6.5.
freshman setter maggie mcnamara (left) was the third bear to record a double-double with 44 assists and 13 digs. Her 13 digs were second on the team behind senior libero megan graham's (right) 17. Freshman mary slinger was the other player to reach double-digit digs with 10.
the bears held the warriors to a .007 attack pct. For the match as wsu had 33 kills with 32 errors in 151 attacks while cu hit .248 with 62 kills, 25 errors in 149 attacks. The bears held a decisive edge with 71 digs compared to the warriors' 50.
concordia returns to action on tuesday, oct. 17 when they travel to mankato to take on minnesota state university in non-conference action at 7:00.
