Concordia University (3-8-1, 2-4-1 NSIC) dropped a 3-0 decision at NSIC-leading Winona State (10-1-1, 6-0-1 NSIC) on Friday evening in Winona, Minn.
The Warriors put in their first goal in the 14th minute when Kara Fritze beat Kara Gamboni to put WSU ahead 1-0.
Whitney Bernhardt made it 2-0 in the 34th minute, assisted by Fritze. The Bears trailed 2-0 at the half.
In the second half, Leslie Schumacher drilled in WSU's third goal of the contest in the 73rd minute.
Gamboni recorded five saves in the game, while the CU offense managed just three players with shots. Sophomore Hillary Johnson fired four shots, all on goal, while junior Rachel Vitense equaled her four shots, with a pair on goal. Freshman Casandra Rikola drilled the other lone shot for Concordia.
The Bears were 0-7 shooting on Warrior goalkeeper Kathryn Kramer, as their three-game unbeaten streak comes to a close.
The Bears return to the field on Sat., Oct. 8 when they travel to Aberdeen, S.D. to take on the Northern State Wolves.
