The Concordia soccer team earned a 2-0 win over visiting MSU Moorhead in NSIC action at Concordia Field.
The Bears got on the board first in a goal by senior
Lyndsay Hartleben in the 13th minute of the game off a steal just outside the box. Senior
Rachel Vitense sealed the win for CU with a goal in front of the net in the 84th minute off a pass from Hartleben and
Ashley Steinle.
Kara Gamboni and
Hannah Turgerson combined for the Bears second shutout in as many games. Gamboni had two saves in the first half, while Turgerson held off a barrage of Dragon shots with eight saves in the second period.
For the game, Concordia outshot MSUM 18-15, with 13 shots on goal, while the Dragons had ten shots on goal.
With the win, the Bears improve to 3-7 (2-3 NSIC), while the dragons fall to 2-8 (1-4 NSIC). Concordia will host Northern State Sunday at 1:00.
