The Bears split a pair of games in the first day of the Colorado Premier Tournament, dropping a five-game match to Abilene Christian (30-23, 31-29, 23-30, 24-30, 13-15) and defeating Regis in three games (30-22, 30-15, 31-29).
Against Abilene Christian,
Jessica Lucia put up impressive numbers, posting 26 kills, with only four errors, and a .500 hitting percentage with 11 digs.
Ashley Olson and
Kelsey Kyro each had 13 kills for the Bears, and
Cailin Terhaar had 61 assists. As a team, the Bears had 71 kills and a .230 hitting percentage, while Abilene Christian posted 78 kills with a .267 hitting percentage.
In the second match,
Val Olson led the Bears with 17 kills and a .560 hitting percentage, while Lucia added 14 kills and eight digs in the win. The Bears had 53 kills and a .366 team hitting percentage, while Regis was limited to 39 kills and a .161 hitting percentage.
