The Concordia volleyball team defeated #9 Tampa in five games (30-17, 28-30, 30-26, 30-32, 15-12) and rolled past #3 Barry University 3-0 (30-16, 30-25, 30-19) to go 3-1 at the Colorado Premier Tournament and improve to 6-2 on the season.
Against Tampa, the Bears were led by
Kelsey Kyro with 21 kills, only two errors, a .594 hitting percentage, and six blocks.
Val Olson added 20 kills, six digs, and six blocks, while
Jessica Lucia and
Cailin Terhaar each had double-doubles. Lucia had 18 kills and 12 digs, and Terhaar had 63 assists and 11 digs.
Megan Graham had a season-high 31 digs in the match.
As a team, the Bears had 75 kills and a .262 hitting percentage, while Tampa had 76 kills and a .225 hitting percentage.
Lucia led a balanced Bears attack against Barry with 16 kills, while Val Olson added 15, with Kyro adding 12. Terhaar had 49 assists. As a team, the Bears had an impressive .387 hitting percentage with 57 kills while limiting Barry to 36 kills and a .126 hitting percentage.
